What you’ll be doing

DEWA Trust is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Therapist to join its rehabilitation team in Karachi.

The successful candidate will assess communication, speech, language, and swallowing-related needs; develop individualized therapy plans; and deliver evidence-based sessions that support each child's functional development and participation in education and daily life.

  • Conduct speech, language, communication, and related functional assessments.
  • Prepare individualized goals, therapy plans, progress notes, and review reports.
  • Provide one-to-one and group therapy sessions using age-appropriate techniques and activities.
  • Monitor progress and adapt interventions according to clinical findings and developmental needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and families.
  • Guide parents and caregivers on home-based communication strategies and continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate confidential records and participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary planning.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong knowledge of speech, language, communication, articulation, fluency, voice, and developmental disorders.
  • Ability to perform structured assessments and translate findings into measurable therapy goals.
  • Competence in designing and delivering individualized and group intervention programs for children with special needs.
  • Practical understanding of augmentative and alternative communication methods is an advantage.
  • Clear clinical documentation, progress tracking, and report-writing skills.
  • Effective communication and counseling skills for working with children, parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Patient, empathetic, organized, and committed to child safeguarding and professional confidentiality.
  • Ability to use play-based, child-centered, and evidence-informed therapy techniques.
