Job Description
- To develop and implement a comprehensive and integrated communications and media strategy, maximizing the impact of the campaign and making use of all relevant types of media;
- Integrating the communications and media strategy with the Edutainment strategy (by linking news media work with entertainment media work).
- Popularizing sexual and reproductive health and rights education, by framing the issue in a way that is culturally sensitive and those appeals to the different audiences: parents, teachers, community leaders and adolescents.
- To identify new innovative media angles and contribute to innovative campaign tactics;
- To proactively identify, meet, establish and cultivate relationships with key media and other relevant external contacts, and compile and maintain contacts and general databases;
- To develop press releases, articles, reactive lines and to organize press conferences, media briefing, visits of media to campaign event locations;
- To generate regular high quality media coverage of the campaign activities, messages and impact;
- To monitor and evaluate media coverage generated and to draw lessons to improve coverage;
- To develop relationships with celebrities who act as ambassadors for the campaign;
- To ensure/contribute to the production of regular progress reports to the Program Management Unit.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
PR & Media strategy for WEG, PRC, WRC & Hayat for all stakeholders
Ensuring improved PR and profile of the organization and its projects
Ensuring the maximum media presence and visibility of organizations and projects
High quality and innovative IEC and promotional material
Maximizing digital presence of WEG and projects with most advanced features and technologies including websites and other social media in accessing SEO
Producing high quality content for articles, the publication reports etc.
High quality archive at all times with maximumbacklog of 24 hours
Effective turnaround time of delivery and quality oftasks
Efficient team management
Submission of effective and efficient work plan and JPDs
Requirements & Skills
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in campaign communication or social marketing;
Good knowledge of and experience working in the Pakistani media environment;
Excellent knowledge of communication approaches, tools and issues, including social media;
Good facilitation, influencing and persuasive skills, with the ability to build strong, credible relationships and to communicate and transfer information to a wide audience;
Strong writing skills, preferably with a history of writing for media;
Excellent communication skills, in writing and verbal Urdu and English;
Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills with good strategic perspective, able to understand complex issues and information from different sources and present this clearly and simply;
Strong organizational and personal management skills, with ability to prioritize work issues to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and adjust to changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through;
Ability to work creatively, effectively and in an innovative manner and to identify and develop new ways to use the media to achieve social change;
Relevant academic qualifications in media, communication or related field.
