Job Description
- Scrub procedure as assigned
- Assist in work area in central sterile between scrub assignments prn.
- Assist in keeping overall operating room clean and tidy
- Report on and off duty at control desk
- Report on and off at control desk for lunch
- Inform control desk where you are at all times while on duty
- Make sure room is cleaned, straightened and stocked before going off duty
When free:
a) Help in rooms by opening cases or helping with stocking
When case finishes:
Proper telephone and intercom etiquette
Knowledge and proper use of:
a) Intercom
b) Suctions: Wall and portable
c) Emergency and routine call buttons
d) O.R. table and accessories
e) Surgery department equipment and instrumentation
Location of fire alarms and fire extinguishers and fire hoses
Preparation of cases for following day
Keep doctor’s preference cards updated
Takes O.R. call as scheduled
Requirements & Skills
- Diploma in Operating Room Technicians or related field. Degree affiliated with Sindh Medical Faculty
- Proven experience working as an OT technician.
- Must have trained in the service or hospital program for Operating Room Technicians
- Demonstrates ability to provide quality patient care
- Communicates and works effectively with people
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A patient and compassionate disposition. Must be a good team player.
- Must be well versed with medical and safety protocols.
