Job Description
- Support sub-district PI processes according to a rigorous schedule in the final year of the PRIDE project (2009-2010).
- Engage the sub-district teams using the learning-by-doing approach with low profile or minimal facilitation throughout the PI processes.
- Support the application of the highly structured guidelines on DHIS data management and analysis, disease surveillance and outbreak investigation and control and epidemiological analysis.
- Participate and provide appropriate technical assistance in quarterly reviews during the implementation of the PI process at the sub-district level.
- Contribute to the assessment and further development of the PIP-PH and PIP-PH cycle 2 processes.
- Conduct regular follow up of the PIP-PH on monthly basis at facility level and other IR1 tasks on need basis by involving district PIP-PH facilitators and other persons.
- Perform other relevant tasks as required - Support training in drug management; support processes for strengthening data analysis and annual planning and budgeting; support communications between IR1 team and the EDO-H PRIDE focal person.

Requirements & Skills
- Medical Degree (MBBS) and/or Masters in public health
- 3 years significant training, experience and skills in basic epidemiology, health statistics and health planning, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience in teaching the above subjects preferably in group learning processes preferred.
- Experience in organizing training programs and workshops preferred.
- Ability to manage a variety of activities in a time-sensitive environment, and in meeting deadlines with attention to detail and quality.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to take initiative and to be flexible depending on changing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in English, including speaking, writing and reading.
