Role Summary
- We are seeking a diligent and highly capable Junior Legal Assistant or Lawyer. The successful candidate will be responsible for document drafting, and conducting comprehensive legal research and supporting the senior lawyer.
Job Description
Drafting legal instruments, including contracts, pleadings, legal advice letters, and professional correspondences.
Conducting detailed research on Australian laws, regulations, and policies (initial training provided); preparing clear reports and summaries.
Reviewing legal documentation and providing accurate legal advice.
Liaising with courts, subject matter experts, opposing counsel, and clients via phone and written communication.
Performing essential functions as directed by senior lawyers.
Location/Time
- Location is flexible. Work from home is encouraged.
- Location must have high speed, reliable internet connection and be quiet with minimal background noise.
- Time: Monday - Friday: 9:30am - 6:30pm Australian Eastern Time. Sunday: Flexible
Requirements & Skills
Candidate Requirements
- Fluency and superior writing/verbal communication skills in English are essential. Preference given to candidates with near-native or native English language skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: LL.B. or LL.M. (Preference for Commercial Law/Business Law specialisation).
- Experience in commercial law practice.
- Demonstrated skill in drafting complex legal documents.
- Note: Candidates from other backgrounds (non-legal) with exceptional English communication skills will also be considered.
