Job Description

Lays out parts dimensions on worktable, using square, chalk line, and soapstone.
Tack-welds scrap metal to outline to provide jig for assembly.
Positions parts in jig and files, chisels, and grinds parts, as indicated, to fit them together.
May heat parts with acetylene torch and bend them in vise, on anvil, or around stakes mounted in table.
Tack-welds fitted parts together or directs FITTER HELPER to tack-weld parts.
Maintain, repair and install mechanical equipment on various assets types and locations across the SWW region often in challenging conditions.
Be expected to produce high quality work working with electricians, instrumentation technicians and operations staff.
Be able to swiftly and comprehensively fault-find, rectify problems on mechanical equipment including sewage pumps and valves and associated pipe work, air blowers, wastewater inlet screens, storm water screens, biological filter equipment, tanks, tank bridges.
Install, maintain and repair mechanical systems generally.
Maintain, repair and installation of mechanical. Electrical and instrumentation to ensure performance of all assets.
Actively take part in risk assessment, COSHH assessment and all related Health and Safety issues.
Identify problematic plant and the subsequent faults and to take part in finding efficient solutions to return equipment to working order.
Provide knowledge, information and provide on-site support for AW capital teams, Operational teams and partners.
Day to day liaison with operational staff.
