Job Description
- Assist the ILRI scientists in the design and execution of training, as well as assist in the analysis and reporting.
- Assist in the supervision of activities supporting the section, in order to contribute to meeting the capacity building objectives.
- Develop, propose and execute capacity building activities to stakeholders involved in the livestock sector in general and dairy sector in particular for the improvement of the dairy industry.
- Collaborate in the design, and implementation of capacity building activities at provincial, district and village level.
- Collaborate in the supervision of the work assigned to field trainers, to ensure the trainings are performed in compliance with established quality standards.
- Carry out special investigations as assigned by your project manager.
- Make periodic reports and on the M&E tasks assigned to your training activities.
- Participate in the publication of training and communication materials through manuals, guides electronic software.
- Contribute to the training and updating of knowledge, to the rest of the project staff, and keep updated on new research techniques or processes.
- Visit and supervise training activities of collaborators.
- Assist in taking care of ILRI scientists and visitors and arrange field trips and M&E activities.
- Assist to identify key technical options for improving dairy animal productivity.
- Conduct trainings and applied onfarm oriented research to demonstrate the benefits of interventions on dairy animal productivity.
- Assist to design and test appropriate delivery mechanisms for improved input and service provision.
- Collaborate with ILRI scientists from different technical and socioeconomic disciplines and range of international and national research and development partners.
- Experience of field research and a proven track record of technical training on onfarm animal science.
- Provides inputs into decision making on complex problems.
Requirements & Skills
- An ability to work in multidisciplinary and a proven record of collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills in English and in Sindh Languages and the ability to communicate to diverse audiences.
- Experience in working in Sindh province and willingness to work/travel to other districts in Sindh Province.
- Sound knowledge on livestock reproduction, breeding, and animal genetics.
- Full command on MS office suite including Word, Excel, outlook and Powerpoint
- Use of database or research applications
