- Artistic Ability: You will need to make art. What's more, it has to be appealing to a wide audience, including the clients and the people they are trying to sell to. You will need to work on projects multiple times, based on suggestions from clients and management.
- Communication Skills: You will need the ability to listen to client's needs, understand what market they are trying to appeal to, and explain your artistic vision for the project. Excellent communication skills will help you defend your work and promote your ideas.
- Computer Skills: Today's graphic designer will need to work with various computer programs.
- Creativity: Graphic designers must always be thinking of new ideas, or new twists on old concepts, and be able to translate that into new design.
- Teamwork: You will be working with other designers, copywriters, and art directors as a team.
- Time-Management: You will be working on many projects, but you also have to know when to stop working on a precious piece of art. Time management will help you greatly.

- Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites
