Dispenser

Ibnesina Clinic, a health and wellness provider serving the Pir Jo Goth and Islamabad communities, is seeking a skilled Dispenser to join its clinical team. The dispenser will work closely with nurses, health technicians and physicians to ensure accurate medication dispensing, maintain pharmacy records, and support patient counseling. This role contributes to efficient outpatient services and patient safety at our clinic.

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions and clinic protocols.
• Verify prescription details and consult with prescribing clinicians to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain inventory including stock rotation, expiry checks, ordering assistance, and recordkeeping for controlled and non-controlled drugs.
• Provide patient counseling on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage in a clear and professional manner.
• Ensure compliance with clinic policies, safety standards, and basic infection control during dispensing procedures.
• Document and report medication errors, adverse reactions, and stock variances to clinic management.
• Collaborate with nurses, health technicians and the medical team to facilitate smooth patient flow and timely medication delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dispensary area and ensure equipment is functional.

The role is clinic-based at our Islamabad site and requires attention to detail, strong communication with patients and staff, and reliability in handling medications. Candidates should be prepared to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and follow standard operating procedures to support safe, patient-centered care.

• Demonstrated experience in dispensing medicines in a clinical or pharmacy setting with accurate dosage calculations and labeling.
• Working knowledge of common medications, generic/brand names, storage requirements and expiry management.
• Familiarity with basic inventory systems and stock control procedures; ability to maintain accurate logs.
• Strong communication skills for clear patient counseling and coordination with clinicians and nursing staff.
• Attention to detail, ability to follow prescription instructions, and recognize potential drug interactions or contraindications.
• Basic recordkeeping skills and comfort with simple computer entry or paper-based medical records.
• Understanding of infection prevention, safe handling of pharmaceuticals, and disposal of pharmaceutical waste.
• Professionalism, punctuality, and ability to work within a small multidisciplinary clinic team.
