We are building an early-stage 3D ecommerce visualization product focused on helping online stores showcase products interactively in the browser. The platform enables merchants to display web-ready 3D models directly on their storefronts, allowing customers to rotate, zoom, and inspect products before purchasing.
Our current focus is on creating high-quality realtime 3D assets for physical products such as footwear, furniture, accessories, and consumer goods. We are working with a small number of active clients while refining our internal production pipeline and delivery standards.
We are looking for a 3D Product Designer to help us scale this workflow and establish consistent production-quality standards for web-ready assets.
You will be responsible for creating production-quality 3D models of physical products from client-provided photos. Every model you deliver goes live on a real ecommerce store and is seen by real customers. Quality, accuracy and technical correctness are non-negotiable.
Your day-to-day:
- Create PBR 3D models from product photos in Blender and Substance Painter
- Export web-optimised GLB files with Draco compression
- Pack and optimise textures (BaseColor, Normal, ORM) within size budgets
- Test all models in gltf-viewer.donmccurdy.com and Three.js editor before delivery
- Collaborate directly with the founder on quality standards and client feedback
- Help establish and improve the production pipeline as we scale
