Job Summary
The Diesel Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of diesel delivery operations and managing client relationships related to fuel supply. This role oversees the coordination of delivery schedules, customer reordering, payment recovery, and the daily management of two key teams – the Delivery Team and the Recovery Team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of leading teams to meet performance goals while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Diesel Delivery Coordination
Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of diesel fuel according to approved customer orders.
Monitor delivery routes and schedules to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.
Coordinate with logistics and warehouse personnel to track stock levels and dispatch readiness.
Customer Follow-up and Reordering
Initiate regular follow-ups with existing clients to facilitate reorders and maintain continuous supply.
Address client queries, concerns, and special requests related to delivery or product quality.
Build strong client relationships to foster long-term business.
Recovery and Payment Collection
Implement and manage recovery strategies for overdue payments.
Maintain records of pending and recovered amounts and coordinate with the accounts department for reconciliation.
Ensure recovery processes are handled professionally and in accordance with company policy.
Team Management
Delivery Team Management
Supervise and support delivery personnel to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Conduct briefings, assign routes, and monitor performance.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and vehicle maintenance protocols.
Recovery Team Management
Guide the recovery team in tracking overdue accounts and implementing recovery procedures.
Set targets, monitor performance, and provide training or support where needed.
Ensure all recovery efforts align with customer service standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Operations, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in operations, delivery logistics, or fuel distribution (preferred).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle recovery and conflict resolution with tact and professionalism.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with logistics or ERP systems is an advantage.
