Proposal Engineer - MEP

Role Overview

The Proposal Engineer - MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) is responsible for preparing detailed proposals, cost estimates, and technical submissions for MEP projects. This role requires a strong understanding of MEP systems, client requirements, and project bidding processes. The Proposal Engineer works closely with the technical, sales, and project teams to deliver winning bids and maintain high client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Preparation:

Analyze project requirements, tender documents, and client specifications.

Prepare technical and commercial proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and company capabilities.

Develop cost estimates, including materials, labor, and subcontractor costs.

Technical Evaluation:

Review project drawings, specifications, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities) to identify scope.

Conduct site visits when necessary to gather data for proposals.

Ensure proposals meet technical compliance and standards.

Client Communication:

Liaise with clients to understand project needs and clarify queries.

Present proposals and provide technical support during client discussions and negotiations.

Collaboration:

Work closely with sales, design, and procurement teams to gather inputs for proposals.

Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and technical details.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain a database of past proposals, costing sheets, and technical submissions.

Prepare and submit detailed project reports, timelines, and progress updates.

Market Research:

Stay updated on market trends, new technologies, and competitive pricing strategies in the MEP sector.

Suggest value engineering options to enhance proposal competitiveness.

Compliance:

Ensure all proposals comply with local regulations, industry standards, and client specifications.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.

Experience:

2-4 years of experience in proposal engineering, cost estimation, or project management within the MEP industry.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical installations.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and estimation software.

Familiarity with standards such as ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, and local building codes.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication for preparing technical documents and interacting with clients.

Effective time management and organizational abilities.

Knowledge Base:

Understanding of tendering processes, BOQs, and cost estimation techniques.

Awareness of new MEP technologies and sustainable solutions.

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: Rs50,000.00 - Rs60,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person

Candidates from Lahore based residence will be preferred
