Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented 3D Printing Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with 3D modeling and additive manufacturing processes, specifically using AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Cura, and other industry-standard design and slicing software. You will be responsible for creating and optimizing 3D models, setting up and managing 3D print jobs, and ensuring high-quality output for prototyping or production.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, model, and modify 3D parts and assemblies using AutoCAD and Fusion 360

Prepare 3D models for printing using Cura, PrusaSlicer, or similar slicing tools

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot various types of 3D printers (FDM, SLA, etc.)

Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product teams to develop functional prototypes

Optimize print parameters to ensure quality, material efficiency, and structural integrity

Perform post-processing tasks such as support removal, sanding, and finishing

Manage 3D printing schedules and material inventories

Continuously research and test new 3D printing technologies, materials, and methods

Maintain accurate documentation of design iterations, print settings, and results

Requirements & Skills

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)

2+ years of hands-on experience with 3D printing and digital fabrication

Proficient in AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and Cura

Strong understanding of additive manufacturing processes and material properties

Experience with mechanical part design, prototyping, and iteration

Familiarity with FDM and/or SLA 3D printers

Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with other CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Rhino, or Tinkercad

Knowledge of G-code and printer firmware configuration

Familiarity with 3D scanning technologies

Experience with low-volume production or custom manufacturing

Understanding of tolerances and fit for printed mechanical assemblies
