Job Description
The General Manager - Plant will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process of steel bars and billets, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in steel manufacturing and a proven track record in managing large-scale plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the plant, ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve production processes, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
2. Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers, supervisors, and production staff.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
3. Production Planning:
- Collaborate with the planning and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate production scheduling.
- Manage inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing excess stock.
- Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to align production with market needs.
4. Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards throughout the production process.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
5. Safety and Compliance:
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
- Stay informed about environmental regulations and ensure the plant operates within compliance.
6. Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the plant's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Monitor and control operational expenses.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
7. Maintenance and Equipment:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant equipment to minimize downtime.
- Ensure that all machinery and equipment are operating at peak efficiency.
- Plan for capital expenditures and equipment upgrades as needed.
Requirements:
20 years of experience or 15+ years of experience with Bachelor in Engineering (Electrical, Metallurgy)
