Job Description
- Textile Designers need to discuss, understand and interpret the needs, ideas and requirements of their clients accurately. They must consider how the textile will be used and what properties it needs. These properties include the weight, strength, performance and flammability of the material used.
- Working within a budget and to deadlines, whilst keeping up with current trends and production techniques.
- Contributing all Textiles related activities.
Requirements & Skills
- A good eye for colour, texture and shape.
- An understanding of the characteristics of fabrics and how they can be used.
- Technical skills such as pattern cutting and sewing.
- The ability to spot and develop trends.
- Drawing skills.
- The ability to use computer design packages.
