Senior Manager Air Freight

- Understand the local and regional air freight market .
- Understand and make carrier choices.
- Develop and assist in managing relationships with local service providers.
- Understand and become proficient in shipment consolidation / management
- Manage freight receipt, routing and turnover of shipments .
- Become proficient in shipment rating.
- Understand and handle air shipment transportation.
- Consolidation
- Notifying customers both internal and external of problems and/or delays.
- Timely response to rate quotes .
- Timely response to all customer service inquiries.
- Identify market trends, potential and customer needs.
- Support commercial teams with top accounts as well participate in selected sales calls visits.
- Expand/explore new market opportunities after thorough analysis of market intelligence data.
- Responsible for managing the local procurement function; ensure negotiated rates with carriers are in line with local, regional and global guidelines and for the best buying conditions (pricing/reliability, connectivity/visibility, frequency/transit-times).
- Manage, coach, lead and develop team members and build a motivated and effective team.
- Should be able to handle air operations.

Strong communication skills.
Strong MS Office skills (MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
